Junior success at County Squash Championships 2019

We were proud hosts of the recent 2019 Dorset County Championships, sponsored by iProsports and Slades Estate Agents.

Below is a report from Bev at Dorset Squash & Racketball, along with photos of some of our West Hants Juniors who enjoyed success: congratulations to Lara, Alex, Freya, Abi, Lucy, Ben, Yuuki, Oscar, and Logan!

"Another great day of squash and a great way to end Women’s Squash Week with 29 girls playing for the county championships in the U9, U11, U13, U15, U17/19 categories.

Starting off the day were 5 fabulous little U9’s, some as young as 6 years old. They played their hearts out and thoroughly enjoyed themselves, all 5 going home with a medal! Meanwhile the U11’s battled it out with Taranya stealing the show with an unbeaten performance. Lisa was triumphant in the U13s whilst Charlotte and Abi competed in a hard hitting finale, Charlotte nipping Abi at the post. The most gripping and intense final was the U17s with both Izzie and Lucy repeatedly stealing the lead and at 9-9 in the fifth it was anyone’s match. With a couple of good serves, Lucy managed to squeeze past the finishing line first winning 11-9. Amy stole the show in the girls U19.

There was also a great day of squash from all our Dorset boys! From 6 years of age to 17, the boys showed passion and skill as they battled to become the 2019 county champions;

U9 champion - Freddie
U11 champion - Isaac
U13 champion - Logan
U 17 champion - Noah
U19 champion - Luca
